Our members come from all backgrounds and have a wide range of experience, education, and interests. They all have one thing in common, however, they want to be leaders. Fortunately, the SIU Leadership Development Program (LDP) is known for producing successful leaders.
Members are taught leadership principles that will serve them well throughout their career. They also learn invaluable skills such as communication, problem solving and time management. As they move through the program, they assume more responsibilities, including peer mentoring and directing service projects.
The LDP has proven to produce well-rounded students who are work-ready. In fact, members of the LDP are sought after by top-notch companies and often receive career offers before they even graduate. LDP sponsors are among those hiring our graduates.
They don’t do it alone, however. LDP members rely on staff and each other to be successful. They develop into a team and often form life-long friendships.
